Description
This event is part of YIDSTOCK 2015: In the traditional Jewish world, music is a staple of everyday life. Hankus Netsky - a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and ethnomusicologist and founder and director of the Klezmer Conservatory Band - explores how music functioned in traditional small-town European Jewish culture and how one man, the late Morris Hollender (celebrated in the Yiddish Book Center's Lee and Alfred Hutt Discovery Gallery), kept his family's Jewish musical legacy alive. The talk will feature music by several of Yidstock's special guest artists.
