Description
“Iom Romì” chronicles a day in the life of the contemporary Jewish community of Rome. From dawn to dusk, through the voices of several characters living and working in the historic Ghetto quarter, “Iom Romì” tells the story of a community both fiercely independent and distinctly Roman. “Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels” was born of the tales that Marion Kreith told her daughter, co-director Judy Kreith, about her escape from Nazi-occupied Belgium and her teenage years in 1940s Havana. Marion and other refugees interviewed in the film recall their lives in wartime Havana: the draw of Cuban food, music and dance, its language and people, and the challenges they faced in this unfamiliar land. The film features an original soundtrack of Cuban and Jewish music. For more information and to purchase tickets: http://support.yiddishbookcenter.org/site/Calendar?id=7706&view=Detail
