Job Title: Hostess

Job Summary: 

Masuda's Cafe is a Halal brunch café in Amherst, MA, serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a South Asian fusion. We are looking for a warm, friendly, and attentive Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and organized dining experience. You’ll also help maintain a clean and pleasant environment for our guests throughout their visit. If you have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a vibrant, fast-paced atmosphere, we’d love to hear from you! 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Greet and welcome guests with a positive attitude. 
• Manage the waitlist and seating chart to ensure efficient seating flow. 
• Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries or reservations. 
• Keep the entrance and host stand tidy and organized. 
• Assist with light bussing duties such as clearing and resetting tables when needed. 
• Ensure the dining area remains clean and inviting throughout service. 
• Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth guest experience. 

Qualifications: 

• Previous hosting or customer service experience is a plus, but not required. 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy setting. 
• A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset. 
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
